We're leaving on a Jet plane......

We started out at the new Airport, which is all new and shiny. The kids love the walkways, so we thought we would take a look around our concourse to see what all there was. We got to the end and turned around and as we turned, there it was, a Cold Stone Creamery. So we thought, what the hay, it's vacation, and we bought the kids some ice-cream.Next was finding some lunch before boarding the plane. We looked at some sandwiches that were 12.95 and thought "$12.95 for tuna fish, $14.95 for Ham and Cheese, maybe a candy bar will do". But we finally decided a $5.00 Hot dog from Nathan's was a better choice. They were pink on the inside, but tasty.

Next came waiting on the plane.

After making onto the plane we got to fly up and through the clouds, which was cool but we didn't get to see anything on the ground.

And finally arriving at my folks house in time to have a wonderful dinner and watch the sun set.

Weekend of good weather

We had some gorgeous weather this weekend and we spent a lot of it outside. It was great to feel the sun on our skin!

Literacy Night at A.B.E.

The kids had an event at school called Literacy Night & the Arts.

Sydney decided that she wanted to perform on the piano in front of all the second grade parents. She played Jingle Bells taught to her over Christmas by Grandpa.

Jared was chosen to play Skippy Jon Jones for his 3rd grade class production. He did a pretty good job with the Spanish accent.

The kids also had things they had written through the year displayed on the walls and on desks outside their classroom. Here is a selection from Sydney -

Jared made a story box which was pretty cool. It's paper folded into a box, decorated by Jared and then you open it up and there is a story and more art work. -

Top O the Mornin' to ya!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY Hope everyone made it through the night without any trickery from the Leprechaun!

The kids made a trap for him but didn't have any luck catching him this year. We put together a little cup full of goodies for the kids (all green of course). I even remembered to wear green this year so I wouldn't get pinched.

Half day at school

The kids had a half day at school today and it was really windy so we thought it would be fun to fly kites. Jared got his up as high as the string would let him.

Park Trip

We went to the Park after Judo today and we saw a lot of wildlife acting like it was spring already. We were cold, so it didn't feel much like spring to us.

We saw a duck and a drake together and another drake came along and got the other drake all mad and it got chased away.The kids were playing hide and seek on the playground equipment, it was funny to see one of them on top of the slide and the other in the slide and neither of them know it until the last minute.

Beware "MAJOR" bragging to follow

Jared and Sydney received their reports cards today.

Here's where the MAJOR BRAGGING begins.

Jared made Honor Roll again this term, making all A's. He received an award for passing 90 objectives in Accelerated Math and for the very first time in his school career, had perfect attendance. His teacher said "He goes above and beyond in everything and he's a friend to everyone!"

Sydney made all A's too, but second grade doesn't have Honor Roll.

Her teacher said " She is an encourager to everyone, she works hard and she loves seeing her everyday.

That's our girl!

Our kids amaze us everyday.

They are such a blessing to have in our lives!

We are so proud of who they are growing up to be.

Is it Spring yet?

We actually had some good weather today and the kids decided to go play in the rain.

Jared played his last basketball game of the season today and he did great. Our team lost, but had fun playing.
