Drive-In movie time! - July 30, 2010

We set off tonight for a double feature at the drive-in.

 

Pretty Good movies, getting home at 3a.m. not so good, but it was fun!

Last Day of Football Camp - July 29th, 2010

One last day of football camp today and it was a hot one! Been really hot this summer, but the boys stayed hydrated and everything turned out well.

Jared an Sydney had friends over today and they seemed to have a lot of fun in the pool, on the playset, inside the house. Just how it should be.

Jared started football camp today and it was sooooo hooootttt! He seemed to be doing OK and having some fun. Hopefully he is learning something too.

Jeffery makin' Waves - July 23rd, 2010

 Jeff joined the kids in the pool tonight and made some huge waves for them to play in. They really had a lot of fun.

Bike Trip July 20th, 2010

Today we took a bike trip over to the Sweet Treat Boutique and to Loggerhead Coffee. It was hot and sticky but it was fun to do something together.

Lazy Day at home then.....July 19th, 2010

We were spending a lazy day at home and a Thunderstorm rolled in early evening. All of a sudden everything went white followed by a crackling sound. 5 minutes later I get a text from Jeffery that he and his Fire Truck are headed for our neighborhood, to the cul-de-sac behind our house. So of course the kids and I went out to go look. There was no fire, but the house at the end of the street had been struck by lightening. It's carriage light was hanging off and it was blackened all around it. We got to see Jeff in his fire gear, but the boys didn't get to fight any fires..bummer!

New Roof - July 19th, 2010

Finally they are finished with the roof and it looks pretty good!

Golden Sky - July 17th, 2010

 The evening sky had a weird golden glow to it tonight. It looked pretty cool.

Playing in the Pool - July 17th, 2010

Kids spent most of the afternoon in the pool with friends. I'm glad that they are using it so much. It was a good purchase.

Syd in my prom dress - July 16th, 2010

My prom dress was in one of the boxes we pulled down yesterday and Syd wanted to try it on too.

Avatar:The Last Airbender - July 15th, 2010

We went to see Avatar: The Last Airbender in 3D today while we waited on the roofers to show up. It was an OK movie. I think the reason we thought that was just OK was because we already knew the story from the cartoon series. The boy that plays Aang was awesome though. 

Syd in my wedding dress - July 15th, 2010

The bad side: We are having a new roof put on and a storm blew in and got into the drywall in the garage ceiling and it created a big hole.

The good side: We pulled down the boxes in the attic and one of the boxes had my wedding dress in it (It didn't get wet, Thank-you Lord!) and Syd tried it on.

She will make a stunningly beautiful bride one day!

Jared's Big Find - July 12th, 2010

Here are a couple of pictures from a cool find Jared made while we were tubing. We think it might be a fossilized crocodile tooth or we could be imagining things. LOL But if you have any ideas let us know.

Tubing on Whitewater River - July 12, 2010

Today we drove down to New Trenton in Southern Indiana to go tubing down the Whitewater River. It took us about 1hr 45min to get there. We waited about 15 min. and then a bus picked us up to take us to our drop in. 

 For the most part we had the river all to ourselves and it took us about 4hrs to get back to the car (take out point was where we parked which was a big selling point for me). Every once in awhile we would stop and look at the rocks to see if we could find something fun.Jared actually found a really cool rock that actually looks like a fossilized tooth. The kids also tried to catch some of the fish that were swimming by.

The kids would get out of their tubes and swim next to us in their life jackets every once in a while.

I think their favorite parts were when we went over the 'rapids'. It was a lot of fun.....

until I hit a rock and went over and my tube started to deflate due to the hole the rock had made. Jared was my hero and came and saved me. After that the kids were a little scared and worried for me. We shared the tubes we had left and 10 minutes before we got to our destination the kids were OK with everything again! I still think it was a lot of fun even with bruised legs!

Jeff bought us a water resist digital camera so we got some pretty good pictures and no processing charges or waiting to see how they look! I like it a lot so far.

More pool time - July 9th, 2010

The kids spent some time in the pool again today and I always love how much fun they look like they are having!

Wren moves back in. - July 9, 2010

After not seeing the Wren coming and going out of the birdhouse for awhile, it looks like it's back. Yay!

Another day at home by the pool - July 7th, 2010

The kids spent another day playing with friends and playing in the pool. Another day of Syd getting thrown in the pool. She was also playing 'Volleyball' with them and I like this picture we got of her hitting the ball.

At home pool day - July 6th, 2010

Today we spent the day at home and the kids had some friends over. They spent most of their time in the pool. Syd decided she didn't want to swim, but the boys thought differently. To cut a long story short Syd got herself thrown in the pool. It was fun watching them have fun.

4th of July - Do Over! - July 5th, 2010

Because Jeff had to work yesterday. The same group of wonderful people from the 4th decided to put up with us for one more day. Yay! They kids had fun hanging out in and by the pool all day (so did we adults, lol).

4th of July

Jeff spent the day at the firehouse, the rest of us went with tradition and spent the day poolside with friends that are more family than friends. The kids must have spent 6 hours in the pool, if not more. The weather was absolutely right for it.

It apparently was so hot that a bird took a dip in the pool too.

  

We also got to watch some fireworks poolside. They were awesome, especially with the reflection in the pool.

It was an awesome day!
