Jared's second soccer game

Jared played his second soccer game today and he keeps improving all the time. He made a defensive kick that sent the ball all the way to the other end of the field, made two attempts at a goal and got one in. His team did awesome at playing together.
It was a good game.

Our Park friend

You know it's spring when ........... all the creatures come out and play. The water snake that lives at the park was out and about today too.

Time out at the Park

The kids have been sick for the last couple of days, so I thought that a trip to the park would be a good way to get some fresh air. It was really warm today and they decided that it would be great to cool down in the water. I love watching them have fun.

Jared's Soccer Season

Jared started his soccer season this past Saturday and I'm happy to say that he appears to have retained some skills from his last season! He played a really good game, scored a goal, did some great defensive moves and was an awesome teammate!

Nature

We have another Robin's bird nest in our Bradford Pear tree in the front yard. The momma bird doesn't leave her nest no matter how much time we spend outside or how much we are around the tree. So dedicated!

Sydney's Proud to be an American Program

Sydney was part of a program called "Proud to be an American" that was put on by 2 of the 2nd grade classes. Each of the students was someone different in American history. Sydney was Laura Bush. She had to tell us who she was and what she had done for the country. They also sang a bunch of songs like Proud to be an American and Red, white and blue.

Early Release from school

Today the kids were let out of school at 12:45pm, so we decided to take them to Monkey Joe's to burn off some energy. There were a bunch of bouncers and slides and the kids were having a blast with how fast they came down the slides. Most of the time they flew down them and bounced right over the stopper onto the mat.

After Monkey Joe's we headed for Dairy Queen for Ice Cream and their Truffle Blizzard is pretty good. We also stopped by C.R.Hero's and got some soft pretzels - YUMMMMM!

IT WAS A GOOD DAY!

We went and spent some time with Jeff's family for Easter. The kids got to hunt for eggs, play pool, wrestle with each other, wrestle their Dad and just spend some time outside in the sun.

Coloring Eggs

So...we thought we'd try dying eggs again this year and we had some success making the colors more vibrant. We also tried speckling them with limited success, but we had fun!

Judo

One of Jared's favorite things to do in Judo is to play a game of chicken. You have to hold one leg with both hands and then while hopping try to knock your opponent down without letting go of your leg. Jared's pretty good at it and usually makes it to the finals.

April showers brings May flowers

So it's been storming most of the day today and the kids have been begging to go outside and play in the water that is pooling in the backyard. It's too cold today but maybe tomorrow when it's snowing and it turns into ice it'll be alright!!!????!!

We're home - finally!

We spent our Spring Break with my folks in Philly which we enjoyed very much. But after spending the morning travelling everyone was ready to be home.

We boarded the plane at 10a.m. then we had to wait for 4 people who were running late to board the plane. Our plane was supposed to leave at 10:30, the last person to board the plane didn't arrive until then. After pushing away from the gate 40 minutes late and sitting on the tarmac for what seemed like forever, they announced we were 15th in line to depart and that would probably take 35 minutes - Ugghhh. We finally take off and make it here a little worse for wear but happy to be home!

We get our luggage and head for the bus pick-up for Economy parking. Oh.....MY.....GOSH. What a mess! There were no lines to wait in, so people were cutting in front of people that had been there longer than we had. We wait for about 15 minutes for a bus to get there, meanwhile 3 Long Term buses have already passed us. When the bus finally pulls up there must have been about 50 people with luggage waiting and they were all in a "I'm getting on this bus" mode, it was survival of the fittest. We decided to send Jeffery to get the car and then come back and get us and the luggage.

So I sat down with the kids to wait some more when we discover.....I have the car keys! Ugghhhhhhhhh! So I need to making sure me, the kids and the luggage get on the next bus. So fortunately a bus pulls up right in front of where we were sitting and we just grabbed the luggage and flung ourselves on the bus hoping we didn't cut anybody off or make anyone too mad. So anyway we are home!

Home Sweet Home

We spent our last day in Philly mostly at the house and watched all the wildlife that came around the house. We also saw a double rainbow that showed up after a Thunderstorm.

Bushkill Falls, P.A.

Today we went to see Bushkill Falls is a series of eight waterfalls, the tallest cascades over 100 feet, located in the Pocono Mountains. Sometimes called Niagra of Pennsylvannia.
We climbed from the top of the waterfall all the way to the bottom and then back to the top. The scenery was beautiful. Well worth the drive to see it. I got a lot of pictures but I won't bore you with all of them just some of them!In this shot you can see Jared, Sydney and my mom and dad. Sydney and Jeff at the bottom of the falls.
