Ice storm with catastrophic potential - January 31, 2011

This was the tweet that came over my phone this afternoon and it freaked us out enough for us to go looking for a generator which we could not find. Hopefully the power lines will hold out and we will have power. They have already closed school for tomorrow and told us not to travel if we don't need to. On the up side it should be fun to go play outside and slide around in our newly formed ice rink!

Jared's 4th Basketball game - January 29th, 2011

I wish it was Jared's 4th Basketball game, but he and Syd have been sick all week with fevers, coughs and stuffy noses. Jared's team won the game anyway 28-14. Go Jayhawks!

Jared's 3rd Basketball game - January 22nd, 2011

Jared played really well today doing his thing on defense, helped his team get another win 24-11! Jayhawks are looking good!

Perfect North Tubing - January 17th, 2011

We wanted to try a different sledding hill so we all decided on going to Perfect North.

It took us about an hour and a half to get there but it was a lot of fun.

It would take us about 20 minutes to get up the hill on the moving sidewalk

and about 25 seconds to sled down the hill.

This is one of the reasons I like it when it snows - The look on the kids faces. They're just having good fun!

Not sure which one of them came up with the idea to link together to go down the hill but it wasn't their most brilliant moment! LOL

2nd Basketball Game - Jayhawks v. Bulldogs January 15th, 2011

Sledding at the Firehouse January 14th, 2010

After school we went to see Jeff at the firehouse and went sledding on the hill behind the firehouse. The kids always have fun there, don't have to walk to far up a hill to have fun sledding.

Woohoo Snow!!!! January 11th, 2010

It's snowing again today and the kids got out of school early and what did they decide to do? Go for a bike ride. It was pretty hilarious, they were slipping and sliding all over. Even Lizzy slipped on the ice!

1st Basketball Game - January 8th, 2011

Jared's team had their first game of the season today and unfortunately Jared was at home with the pukes. The team went on to win their game 39-7.

Dance Party 2 - January 7th, 2011

We all took our turns playing Dance Party on the Wii and for us old folks we about died of exhaustion after the first song as for the kids they were just fine. It was all pretty hilarious .

Pumpkin the neighbors cat - January 6, 2011

Today we got a visit from our neighbors cat, Pumpkin. We like her a lot 'cause she likes to catch little critters that I don't want in the house!

She can come visit anytime she wants.

First bath for the dwarf hamsters - January 5, 2011

Today was bath day for the Lea-Bell and Z-Sugar - the dwarf hamsters. We just put them in 'bath powder' and they took care of everything themselves. Wish Lizzy would do that! They were very cute to watch.

Why does it always happen? January 5, 2011

Today was Jeff's first day as an IFD man. So all of his old fire gear is here at home and Syd wanted to wear his helmet. Cute huh!

Lea-Bell and Z-Sugar - January 2, 2011

We've had the hamsters for a little over a week and the kids are doing a great job taking care of them. The hamsters are slowly getting used to the kids handling them but are still really skittish.

First Day of the year - January 1, 2011

We got to spend the evening with some wonderful people eating, playing cards and spending time talking.

The kids had a blast hanging out with each other too!

Jared and I brought in the New Year to Thunderstorms. It was pretty cool having nature do most of the fireworks for us!
