Conclusion to our Sunday adventure

After all the planes had flown and people were streaming out of the Airport we decided to stick around and wait for the crowd to dissipate. The kids went to cool themselves down in a cool mister and we saw a jet getting towed onto the airstrip all pretty cool.

Blue Angels

And for the conclusion of the Air Show the Blue Angels performed. They are so super cool that we took a ton of pictures and it's hard to pick the ones we like the best, but here's our best shot.....

C-130 or "Fat Albert"

Fat Albert lead off the Blue Angel portion of the show with the high performance, short field take off. The coolest thing for us was watching it taxi backwards.

Golden Knights Paratroopers

Golden Knights Paratroopers came next. The U.S. Army Golden Knights demonstrated their ability to perform precise free fall and parachute maneuvers in the sky, and yet land at Air Show Center every time. But I think they had a little help from some friends. (in the picture there are two birds on either side of him.)

U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight

Heritage Flight was put together to celebrate the United States Air Force showing the past and the present. It is a formation flight with the A-10 Thunderbolt and the WWII P-51 Mustang.

A-10 Thunderbolt

Next was the A-10 Thunderbolt. They were made for low air speeds and altitude, and are highly accurate weapons-delivery platforms.

MV-22 Osprey

Next came the Osprey. It is a joint service, multi-mission aircraft with vertical take-off and landing capability and is just too cool.

Time out for a drink

L-39 Albatross

Pretty cool jet, made in Czechoslovakia in the 1960's.

Warbirds

Next was a parade of warbirds.

Pitts S-1-11B

Next was Michael Wiskus performing competition aerobatics in his modified Pitts S-1-11B plane

Like father,like son...

Next the boys came back from a tour around the airport. I don't think they realized they were matching in clothing and in the way they move. The apple definitely did not fall very far from the tree at all.

Pitts S2C bi-plane

Next we saw the Pitts S2C bi-plane.It cranks out 260 horsepower that goes almost 2500 vertical feet straight up in the air. It can pull +6 and -5 G's and has a top speed of 212 mph. Cool Huh!

CAP 580 aerobatic performance

The next performer we watched was Matt Chapman with his CAP 580 plane.

Piper Cub aerobatic demonstration

Next we watched an aerobatic demonstration where Greg as Alabama redneck Clem Cleaver "steals" a Piper Cub and lands on the World's Smallest Airport; a moving pickup truck!

KC-135R Stratotanker

The next plane was a air fuel tanker.

Corsair and Wildcat

The third set of planes to fly by were the Corsair and Wildcat planes. The Corsair is one of Jeff's favorites.

Black Hawk Medical Helicopter

The Black Hawk Helicopter was the next thing we saw. This specific helicopter had just returned from Iraq after spending a year over there.

Air Show - F-16's

The Air Show opened with a couple of F-16's doing a Fly-by.
