I guess it's more well known as Chinese New Year. We decided to celebrate the ending of the Year of the Rat and welcomed in the Year of the Ox with a few decorations and some traditional Chinese things. All this to help the kids learn about other cultures.
We have red packets which are given from adults to kids as good luck and honorability. We have an orange basket filled with oranges and tangerines - oranges for wealth, tangerines for good luck.
We have the ox ushering out the rat.
It is the year 4706 on the Chinese calendar.
The kids also ate their dinner with chopsticks - I was impressed with their skill!
I also filled a Chinese take out box with candy:-)
