Hot, It's sooooooo HOT!

They don't call it Hotlanta for nothing. It was a little bit toasty so my sister let the kids play in the water from the hose pipe. Little Sam did not want to participate but the older kids had a blast.

Now for sweet treats

After having lunch we went to Granny's Famous Funnel Cake Haus. Jared didn't want Funnel cake so he had ice-cream - I believe it was a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of caramel in a cone. Everyone one else had funnel cake -YUM!Jared imitating Granny.

We're hungry...feed us!

For all parents out there, I'm sure you are all very familiar with the after activity phrase "we're hungry"! So off we went to find some food in the Village of Helen. We settled on Cafe International which is said to be the home of the "Best Reuben in the World".The restaurant is also on the banks of the Chattahoochee River so you can sit outside and watch other tubers go by as you eat. To entertain ourselves and the kids we had them try eating the lemon that came with the drinks. Here is Katie's reaction:Little brother, Sam wasn't too worried about it. J and Syd posed as Hansel and Gretel for me. Which was right outside the restaurant. It was a very tasty lunch. I wonder if they follow the tale of Hansel and Gretel???

Helen, GA

Today we took a drive up to Helen, Georgia with my sister and her two little cuties. Helen offers tubing down the Chattahoochee River, magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. While we were there we went "tubin' the hooch"! We all took our turn getting dumped into the river which was really pretty cold despite the 90 degree weather. I think we all enjoyed the little rapids and drop-offs the most. It took us about an hour and 45 minutes to float from beginning to end. Which is just about the right length of time.
