August 31 - Love those country Sunsets

One of my favorite things about staying at football practice until 8pm is that we get to watch a country sunset. They are just gorgeous, I wish the camera did them justice.

August 31 - Football Practice

Jared had his football practice tonight and he's doing an awesome job on his tackles. He's staying low and swinging through. Most importantly though, he's having fun!

August 30 - Another play day. Gotta love 'em.

The 'kids' played outside all day today, including the big kid - Jeff. He showed the young men that he still has his moves, at least I think so! They played Frisbee, ramping and pile on the low man.

August 29 - Watchin' the kids play

One of my favorite things to do is to watch the kids have fun and today was no exception. Jared had a bunch of his friends over and they were playing on the swings and in the woods. They were trying to see who could go upside down and fastest on the swings. They pretty much all did the same but there were plenty of discussions about who the winner was!

August 27 - The setting sun

Another evening came to an end with a huge sun hanging in the western sky - beautiful!

August 27 - Football and Cheer practice

Both Football and Cheer practice is going great. They are both enjoying being outside and meeting new people. Jared, I think is looking forward to his first game when they really get to 'play ball'. We got rained on again tonight and we were treated to another rainbow!

August 25 - Sunset After Football/Cheer practice

Driving home from practice tonight we were treated to a beautiful sunset. Its always fun watching the sunset at football 'cause we are out in the country and there are just fields and trees, you can actually watch it set on the horizon, not behind a house!

August 25 - Football practice

Jared was given the position of Right Guard tonight. We'll see if his coach keeps him there or if he'll get to try other things. They also did a lot of drills and practicing their three point stances and take-off.

August 25 - Cheer leading practice

Sydney is starting to have fun at Cheer. I think her favorite cheer is "We're hot, we're burnin', we are Mt Vernon!

August 24 - Jared's 1st practice with his team

Today was Jared's first practice with his team. He landed on team #4 - the Green team. Their are 17 boys on his team ranging from huge to tiny, with Jared right in the middle range. Hopefully all the boys will do their best and get a wonderful experience and we'll make it through with no injuries.

August 23 - Play day

Today the kids hung out with friends and relaxed before we head into our first full week of school. Lizzy even had a friend over and her name is Prada. I may be getting older but I don't think this is really what ramps are used for. How many kids does it take to get a tennis ball over the fence .... look carefully....4.

August 22 - Last Day of Evaluations

Today was the make-up day for having Thursday off and the boys had to show up in full football gear.We spent 3 hours standing in the rain and the cold, but on the upside we'll know what team he is on tomorrow.

August 20

So they cancelled practice tonight on account of bad weather!!! As you can tell from the picture, the weather never happened so the boys and Syd got the evening off. In the picture they are playing 'The roof game', where they throw the football on the roof and try to be the one to catch it - pushing and shoving allowed! They have fun and it wears them out, so it's all good!

August 18 - Syd's first cheerleading practice

Tonight was Syd's first cheer leading practice for MYFL and she is all set to go. She will be cheering for Jared's JV games and she gets to cheer at a high school game too! She really wants the Pom-poms and the uniform.

August 18 - Jared's 2nd day of football

Today was set for more evaluations and this time it was helmet and shoulder pads so they can get to hitting someone!

So I'm like two to three weeks behind on the blog and I'll update it soon I promise. I wanted to post a picture of my babies the morning of the first day of school. I just love them so much and I miss them when they are not home. Does anyone out there have a pause button for kids?

August 17 - First Day of Football Evaluations

Jared started football today with the MYFL. Today they just got all the boys together in their age groups and put them through some basic evaluations. The only piece of equipment they had to wear was their helmet so it was a pretty easy day. The only weird thing was getting rained on for about 15 minutes and not being prepared so we got drenched, but on the upside we were treated to a rainbow.

August 17 - Meet the Teacher

Tonight was meet the teacher night where we find out who the kids teachers are. Jared got Mrs. Richmond who was who we wanted for him and Syd got Jared's old 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Vittori which is great also. So before we went to meet the teacher we took our 'annual' family shot. Here's our amateur family picture. Here's a different one with our other family member - Lizzy.

August 16

End of Summer - Part Deux?? SO we thought that everyone would be sick of us already, but apparently we were wrong. We had another full house today, this time it was swimming, playing old video games in the garage and riding bikes and go-karts.

August 15

We decided to have an end of summer fun day at home. The kids had a few of their friends over and they went swimming, sunbathed, played in the woods, played in a tent, feed everyone dinner, and had a campfire with S'mores. Even Lizzy (our dog) got to come and play outside all day. It felt like we were busy all day, we older folks were ready to drop when everyone went home, the kids however, wanted to keep on going.

August 13

Another day at home, trying to get ready for school starting next week. The kids say they are ready to go back.......sigh, oh well. Another day of pool, friends and relaxing.

August 11

We spent the day today playing with friends, swimming in the pool, playing wii resort and watching some beautiful skyscapes.

August 10

Today we spent most of the day at the YMCA pool. They have a splash park, a kid pool, and a regular pool with a couple of slides. Before the kids were allowed to go down the slides they had to take a swim test. The swim test was swimming the length of the Olympic sized pool and they both passed with flying colors - Wahoo! So off to the outdoor pool we went. Here are a couple of pictures of the exiting the slides.They also went and played in the Splash park and the kids pool with the Umbrella thingy.

They had a lot of fun and were actually somewhat worn out for about an hour!

August 8th

So when it's hot out and there's been no rain, it's time to get the sprinkler out and you'll never believe who loves to run through sprinklers!After the sprinkler it was time for a quick dip in the pool and a hug for Syd.
